Photography

While photography has primarily been a hobby for me, it was a significant part of my professional role as Communications Coordinator for the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce from 2018-2021. I have also been published in Our State magazine, the official magazine of North Carolina, and as a finalist in the 2024 Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition. While being a lifelong photography enthusiast, I am primarily self-taught. However, I did study photography with local High Country expert Todd Bush. Here are highlights of my photographic work.

2024 Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition Winner "Best Single Image" - "Slugs in Love"

I took this photo in the Banner Elk Town Park in September of 2023. It shows the mating ritual of two slugs. The image was selected as the winner in the Best Single Image category in the annual Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition.
